San Mateo Toyota, Lexus and Scion Service & Repair

This may be my first update of an update review. I believe it is warranted. I booked a 15k service for my car and also asked Chris to take a look at my power antenna for repair. While going through a car wash back in June or July I was uncharacteristically out of it and left the radio on while in the car wash. That night I went to my car at a very late hour and thought it had been pulled out and vandalized. Then it dawned on me exactly what had happened. Boy, did I feel schtoopid. The antenna worked just fine, except it didn't go in all the way and stuck out about five inches. I didn't like that.I had the 15k service and Chris ordered a new antenna mast. He graciously offered to replace the mast at cost with no labor charge. Wow! I was really happy and that is just one reason why I take my car to Chris. I've owned four Toyotas and Chris has worked on three of them. I trust him and he never talks down to me being a 'chick' who knows nothing about cars. He and his team are always professional and courteous.My antenna works perfectly and I can just move on from this little incident.

Girls, if your looking to take your Toyota to someone who you can trust to give you a honest estimate and fix it right the first time then please bring it to C & T Toyota. I know its hard to find someone you can give your car too and know he isn't out to make big bucks on you but Chris is a doll. He goes out of his way to be helpful and explain everything that needs to be done and not charge excessively. I have known Chris for more then 10 years and when I was married we always brought our Toyota to him and now that I am single I know I can still trust him to give me an honest opinion and now I send my daughters to him. You are the best Chris and I thank you very much.

It's nice to actually be able to trust a mechanic. I love my little van and Chris totally took care of it. He is incredibly kind and genuine and knows his stuff. I originally took it somewhere close to my house and they gave me an estimate of about $3000 so I took it for a second opinion to C&T by recommendation from a friend and it turned out it only needed $1200 worth of work. Now it's a happy little Previa again!

This is the best Toyota shop on the Peninsula. I've been going to Chris at C&T since 1996 when I bought my first Toyota. C&T does great work at a fair price. And they never recommend work your car doesn't need.

Thank you to my fellow Yelpers for giving Chris and his team the 5 stars they deserve... so that I could find them when it came time to get some work done on my Camry! Agreed, it is quite difficult to find a great, trustworthy mechanic. What a relief to have found C & T! I was skeptical at first (just being somewhat paranoid by nature), but Chris has definitely proven his trustworthiness across the several interactions I've had (happens when your car has almost 200 K miles). And not only is he trustworthy, but also he and his team know Toyotas like the back of their hands. Any slightly higher prices would be more than made up for by the efficiency due to familiarity and the above-and-beyond service.

We've been going to Chris for years and wouldn't go anywhere else! Finding a great mechanic you can trust is priceless. He has a great reputation in the neighborhood (i.e. auto glass or Costelli's body shop) - we've heard more than once - "you don't need to replace your car - Chris will keep it going forever!" When we do get a new car one day it'll be a Toyota or Lexus to ensure Chris can still take care of us.

Just went there for the first time, brake job for the Sienna. Very friendly, prompt service. They did good work and were easy to deal with. I'll be back.

I wish I still had my Toyota, because taking it to Chris the few times it needed anything outside the normal oil changes which I did myself, was always a good experience. Over the 5 years I went there I never felt anything but trust that they would do the job right and at a reasonable price. C&T will not take you for extra parts or labor, they are that trustworthy! Hard to believe but shhh, don't tell everybody or they will be swamped, that is the only concern I might have, but its worth the wait if thats necessary.

Chris (owner) is honest, detailed, reliable, to the point service advisor and business owner. I have a 1994 Toyota Camry which has 200k miles and has been taken well good care by Chris and his team. My car drives very well! I had my check engine light diagnosed by two other repair shops and they haven't solved the problem until I brought my car to Chris. He had solved the check engine light in the initial visit.PROS: Uses quality, genuine Toyota parts at a reasonable price, service done right and has not misdiagnosed, prioritizes repairs needed most attention first, friendly/repectful/honest shopCONS: Bit of a drive for me, but worth the driving distance, not much of a waiting area, does not open on the weekends.I always leave the repair shop extremely satisfied knowing that I can drive my car with a piece of mind with getting your money's worth. I would highly recommend C&T Automotive for your Toyota needs. They have always exceeded my expectations! So thank you Chris and team!

Chris at C&T has been taking care of our Toyotas for 15 years and we've sent a lot of friends to him who've been happy for the referral. He's a good, honest mechanic with reasonable prices. If you don't work too far away, his crew will drive you to work after you drop the car off. Solid mechanic.
